Dedicated Staff

Hellwood Racing employs dedicated staff who care for the horses and owners every need.

Richard has 30 years experience in training racehorses both Flat and National Hunt. Richard's wife Liz, has been by his side for that time and specialises in horse and staff welfare, liaising with veterinary staff, stable staff, and owners too. Richard's son Simon, is Assistant Trainer, overseas the day to day running of the yard and also goes racing. Simon has worked at other yards, and also accompanied Captain Rio and other horses to Dubai and France for his father.

Richard's younger son, Timothy, is in charge of Hellwood Stud Farm looking after 5 mares and assorted offspring. Tim is very talented at planning the various coverings for each mare, having gained considerable experience at the National Stud.

Michael Stainton is Hellwood's excellent stable jockey, and stable staff include members from Britain, India and Mauritius.
Geraldine Yeomans is Richard's secretary.
